Setting up your profile

Username, photo, location (GPS or postcode), and interest categories.

Username and photo

During setup you choose a username that other users will see. You can also add a profile photo so people recognise you when swapping or messaging. Both can be changed later in your account settings.

Location

We ask for your location so we can:

  • Show you items near you and prioritise local options (especially in our Cardiff-first launch area).
  • Calculate which delivery options are available (e.g. nearby lockers, safe meeting points).
  • Support nationwide browsing while still highlighting what’s relevant to your area.

App: You can use GPS (with your permission) or enter a postcode. Web: We use postcode entry. Your exact address is not shown to other users unless you share it (e.g. for courier delivery). See Why we ask for your location for more.

Interest categories

Selecting categories (e.g. fashion, electronics, home) helps us personalise your feed and suggest items you’re more likely to want. You can update these anytime in your account.

Optional steps

We may offer optional steps such as phone verification or enabling notifications. These improve safety and keep you updated on swaps and messages but are not required to start listing or browsing.
