Staying safe on Swopsee

Safe meetups, public places, and keeping payment on-platform.

Meet in public

For in-person swaps, use our suggested safe meeting points or another public, well-lit place. Prefer daytime when possible. Let someone know where you’re going. Don’t meet at a private address unless you’re comfortable and it’s agreed (e.g. for a large item).

Keep payment on Swopsee

Pay for items and delivery through Swopsee so you’re covered by our Buyer & Swapper Protection and Refunds & Disputes policy. Don’t pay by bank transfer, cash in the post, or other off-platform methods. If someone pressures you to pay elsewhere, stop and report them. See Keeping your account secure.

Communicate in chat

Keep the conversation in Swopsee chat. That way we have a record if there’s a dispute. Don’t share personal payment details or passwords in chat. We’ll never ask for your password or verification code.

Use trust signals

Check the other person’s profile and any SwapCreds or feedback. Read the listing and photos carefully. If something feels off, don’t proceed—report it. See our Community Standards and Prohibited Items.
