Chat during a swap or offer

Negotiation, delivery, acceptance, and system messages.

What chat is for

When you send or receive a swap or offer, a chat thread is created for that transaction. In the thread you and the other person:

  • Accept, reject, or counter the swap or offer.
  • Agree on delivery (in-person, locker, courier, HQ verification).
  • Pay any delivery fees (locker, courier, HQ) through the links or steps we show.
  • Coordinate handover (time and place for meetup) or shipping (tracking, collection).

System messages

We may add system messages in the thread when something happens—e.g. “Locker booked”, “Courier paid”, “Item shipped”. These help both of you see progress. You may also get a tracking link there. See Tracking your order.

Keep it on Swopsee

Keep communication and payment on Swopsee so you’re covered by our Buyer & Swapper Protection and Refunds & Disputes policy. If someone asks you to move to another app or pay off-platform, don’t—and consider reporting them.

Buy Now has no chat

If you Buy Now, delivery was chosen at checkout and no chat thread is created. Order updates may appear in your order history or by email. See Delivery when you Buy Now.
